Howdy friends and neighbors.  What a great week I just had!  I didn’t watch one single news report all week, I just sat back with the TV off and watched it rain.  Now that’s a stimulus package!

 My wife and I were headed down the road the other day when we passed a familiar sight in rural country.  We saw a dead coyote hanging from a fence post.  My wife asked, “why do people hang dead coyotes from fence posts?”  Well, she stumped the hat with this one!  I don’t have a clue why they hang dead critters from fence posts!!  All I can do is guess at this point until my loyal readership responds back with bounds of information about such practices. Howdy friends and neighbors.  OH MY!  My “hat full of bull crap” award, for the past week, has to go to Congressman Hank Johnson (D) of Georgia.  In a congressional hearing in Washington, D.C. he was concerned that an influx of US troops on a long skinny island would cause the island to capsize!  It’s all over YouTube, just look it up.  Wow, this is who is making policy for this country.  But hey, give ‘em a break, it’s Congress. 

Some of my own Oklahoma legislative delegation secured more than $30 million dollars to see if there is any salt in the Salt Fork of the Red River!!!  I’m going to repeat that, “to see if there is any salt in the SALT Fork of the Red River.”  I can save congress a lot of money.  For the low price of $28.5 million I will drive down there and taste it.  What the heck, I will even throw in a water test at OSU for an extra $30.00 to back it up.  On the bright side, at least they got a little money back to waste in Oklahoma. Howdy friends and neighbors.  To jet, or not to jet, that is the question!?!  Now, when I ask this highly philosophical question, the first thing that pops into the mindset of today’s folks is travel.  Or, maybe airports, 737’s, parking, baggage, security lines, no pocket knives, take off your shoes, $5.58 Dr. Peppers, and I wonder if I will ever have to actually use those oxygen bag thingies.  But NO!  When one says to jet or not to jet in rural cattle country we are talking about water well pumps… (more…)
