Howdy friends and neighbors. It’s wet!!! We have had some wonderful rain lately in just the right amount and at the right time. As a grass and wheat farmer, cool temps and moisture make things look good. Just remember to look at the rain gauge right now and not at the price of fuel, fertilizer, iron, coffee, Copenhagen, Lipitor or the Kansas City Board of Trade. Politicians are talking “faith” and “hope,” but farmers live it daily.
Well, I took a little heat last week for taking a stand on the GOP vice-presidential nominee and I don’t mind a bit. I’m just thankful that people are passionate about the issue. Folks seem to think that I just don’t like Democrats. BULL! Lets get this straight. I don’t like pansy liberals or socialists. I don’t have a lot of arguments with the old “Blue Dog Democrats,” or “My Granddad’s Democrat.” It’s just the self-righteous, rich liberals that tell me they can fix my problems and tell me how I need to live my life while they do just the opposite. They have a grand plan to tax me into submission, redistribute that wealth as they see fit so they can get re-elected. Last week I wrote about how I like Governor Palin and her views but I also believe that she is not going to solve one single problem I have today. Obama, McCain, Lucas, Inhofe, none of these guys can make my life better. It starts with me… All I ask of my government is to get out of my way, provide infrastructure and give me protection. I’ll do what I can to become wealthy and then I can help solve some problems by giving my wealth to church missions and worthy causes. Not to the federal government!
I was going to go light this week and just talk about how the armadillos have decided to support Governor Palin as well, but I’m a little fired up after the above paragraph. I just love how the bobble head media can’t seem to grasp the fact that Palin can raise a family and be VP at the same time. What better place to be? I think back to my own mother when I was a young pup and wonder how she did it. Folks, I imagine all of you can wonder the same about your mother. Mom was a high school principal, teacher, class sponsor, score keeper, 4-H and FFA volunteer, grocery getter, cook, nurse, play dough manufacturer, speech writer, shoe finder, dress maker and mom. Oh, she would have loved to have had a personal jet, speech writer, press secretary, personal secretary, nine interns, and a red phone with a direct line to the FBI and CIA to find missing shoes and baby calves. But I still think she would have personally given whippings and hugs. There’s no way I am going to question whether or not a mother can handle the job of vice president of this nation. Can Washington D.C. handle a mother of five? Historical? Oh yeah. Has the Senate majority leader ever been put in a “time out”?????!!!!!!!
I don’t know what the pulse of the entire nation is, but it seems that here in the conservative belt Governor Plain has sparked a new interest in a dead campaign. “Lipstick on a pig?” That’s all Obama can come up with? Obviously, he has never tried to wrestle with a pig. I have to steel this one from a friend. He said that Sarah Palin looks like someone that could talk tough energy policy with the meanest of CEO’s and then offer them a cookie. Amen!
I’m Monte Tucker, and that is what’s under my, hang on a minute, “Mommm, where’s my hat??”
